About Aeronuvia
Aeronuvia is airport weather intelligence built entirely on open, official aviation data. Every airport page combines the latest observation, the terminal forecast, runway and radio information and — for US airports — live FAA delay status, and explains it in plain language.
Where the data comes from
- Weather observations (METAR) and forecasts (TAF) — the NOAA / National Weather Service Aviation Weather Center. Observations refresh every 10 minutes, forecasts every 20.
- Airports, runways, radio frequencies and navaids — the OurAirports open dataset, which aggregates FAA, ICAO and national aviation authority data. Refreshed daily.
- US ground stops, delay programs and closures — the FAA National Airspace System status feed, refreshed every few minutes.
- Sunrise, sunset and twilight — calculated from each airport's coordinates with the NOAA solar position algorithm.
How values are derived
Feels-like temperature, relative humidity, runway headwind and crosswind components, flight category of each forecast period and the plain-language summaries are all calculated from the reported values — nothing is estimated or invented. When a station isn't reporting, the page says so rather than showing old data as current.
Not for operational use
Aeronuvia is a reference and planning aid. It is not an official weather briefing. Always obtain an official briefing and consult current ATIS, NOTAMs, charts and ATC for flight operations.
